Replacing windows is a 20+ year investment. To make the right choice and avoid overpaying, you need to understand three key elements: the profile, the glazing and the hardware.
Which PVC profile to choose
The profile is the "skeleton" of the window. The number of chambers determines thermal insulation. For Moldova, 5-chamber profiles are optimal — they retain heat in winter and coolness in summer. 7-chamber profiles are only needed in very cold climates; for apartments they are overkill.
Type of glazing
A double-chamber (3 panes) glazing with low-emissivity coating is the standard for living spaces. Single-chamber glazing is suitable only for cold balcony glazing. Ask the technician whether the unit contains argon — this gas additionally reduces heat loss.
Hardware is the window's lifespan
Do not skimp on hardware. High-quality German hinges and locking mechanisms withstand 50,000 opening cycles. We install reliable Maco and Roto hardware with up to 10 years warranty.
What to look for when ordering
Request certificates, a contract with warranty, and most importantly — a fixed price after measurement. The technician should prepare a detailed specification: dimensions, color, number of sashes, opening type, sill size, jamb finishing.
